As Lead Product Designer for Skuid, a low-code application development platform with more than five million users, Tyrick puts his 10+ years of experience and innate knack for problem solving to great use. In his five years with the company, he has leaned on his ingenuity and aptitude to resolve issues, creating design solutions that exponentially improved both Skuid’s offerings, as well as the overall user experience for millions of app designers across the globe.

Having previously worked for companies like Opentable and MailChimp, Tyrick’s work history speaks volumes about his talent and experience level. His unique background has allowed him the opportunity to take on a wide variety of tasks, each of which has served to sharpen his skill as a designer while furthering his appreciation for artfully intentional UI.

When it comes to his approach to design, Tyrick believes that user needs should always be top priority. “Design for the problem,” he said. “Design for people, not the system. It’s important not to jump to conclusions. Sometimes the actual needs are not the same as the requests.” Tyrick also believes it’s important for design to be inclusive, so he designs for everyone– regardless of background, circumstance, skill level, or subject knowledge.

When he’s not creating, Tyrick enjoys time on his 20-acre farm in Georgetown, TN with his wife, Veronica, and his two dogs, Pepper and Byrdie. He loves Wes Anderson films, live music, and cooking– particularly with vegetables grown in his own garden.
